ASU hosts Talladega College on Monday at 7 PM
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The two-time defending Southwestern Athletic Conference basketball champion Alabama State University Hornets tip-off the 2009-10 season Monday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Acadome in an exhibition game against Talladega College.

ASU looks to build upon last season’s success that saw the Hornets capture a second straight SWAC regular season title and also make an appearance in the NCAA tournament.

Fifth-year head coach Lewis Jackson, the reigning SWAC Coach of the Year, has the challenge of replacing all five of his starters, including former SWAC Players of the Year Brandon Brooks and Andrew Hayles. The Hornets return nine players from last season and also welcome a group of seven talented newcomers.

Following the game with Talladega, Bama State has a week to prepare for its regular season opener Nov. 16 at Ole Miss. ASU’s first regular season home game is Nov. 24 against Columbus State.

Tickets for ASU Basketball games are available Tuesday thru Friday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Acadome ticket office, or by telephone at 334-229-4551. Reserved tickets cost $12 and general admission are $10.
