Hayles and Merritt Nominated for National Player of the Week

 Dear ASU Alumni and Fans:

Alabama State University basketball players Andrew Hayles and Shanice Merritt have been nominated for the Heritage Sports Radio Network's (HSRN) weekly National Player of the Week award, but in order to win, they need your vote and support.

Hayles, a 6-2 senior guard from Mobile, is the second leading scorer for the Hornets with 237 total points, an average of 12.5 per game.

Merritt, a 6-2 junior forward/center from Tuscaloosa, is the leading rebounder for the Lady Hornets, averaging 4.9 rebounds per outing.

The ASU Sports Information Department requests that you support Hayles and Merritt by casting your vote for them today by visiting the Heritage Sports Radio Network's web page at www.hsrn.com.

Voting ends on Friday at 11 a.m. and the winners will be announced Friday evening, so vote for Hayles and Merritt today!
