MONTGOMERY -- More than 80 golfers participated in the inaugural Reggie Barlow Golf Tournament at Arrowhead Golf and Country Club on Monday.

The event, which raised money to continue enhancements for the ASU football program, included an 18-hole four-man scramble and a post-round awards lunch.

Several of Barlow's celebrity friends and former NFL teammates participated in the tournament including Damon “Big Sofa” Jones, Aaron Beasley, Garrison Hearst, Fred Beasley and Eddie Robinson Jr.

“This was a great day and a fun-filled first golf tournament,” said Barlow. “I want to thank everyone who participated. We hope to be able to continue growing this tournament each year. It is an event that truly benefits our football program in many ways.”

In addition to registration fees for golfers, the tournament also provided local businesses and ASU supporters the opportunity to participate through various sponsorship plans.

Barlow also set the date for the second annual tournament for May 17, 2010, at Arrowhead.
