ATLANTA — The head coaches of Alabama State University's athletic programs joined athletic department administrators and various ASU campus administrators in attending the NCAA Regional Rules Seminar held this week at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center.
The group from ASU attended the event as part of the University and athletic department's continued effort for compliance education. The week-long seminar allowed the various attendees to improve and increase their knowledge in all areas of NCAA compliance.
“This was a tremendous opportunity for our head coaches and university administration to gain valuable knowledge and experience in all aspects of NCAA compliance,” said ASU athletic director
Monique Holland. “We have made a strong commitment to be diligent in observing all NCAA rules, and this seminar was a great place for everybody to gather more compliance information. Having both the athletic department and university staff members together at this seminar was a huge step in fostering our desire for a shared responsibility in relations to NCAA compliance.”
The purpose of the NCAA's Regional Rules Seminar is to present an educational opportunity to athletics administrators and coaches at Divisions I, II and III institutions. The seminar, which is held annually, is designed so that participants with different backgrounds and experiences may benefit.
