MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State University football team will hold its annual Black & Gold game Saturday at Hornet Stadium at 3 p.m.
The Black & Gold game, which concludes the spring practice session for the ASU football program, caps off a fun-filled day of activities at Alabama State.
The day begins with ASU's 16th annual President's Golf Classic, a fundraising event for Alabama State University, teeing off at 8 a.m. on the Senator Course of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Prattville.
HornetFest, which includes free food and a variety of family activities, will be held from 12-2 p.m. at Hornet Stadium followed by an ASU Alumni Flag Football game at 2 p.m.
In addition, the ASU Baseball team hosts Savannah State at 1 p.m. from Paterson Field.
“We are thrilled to be a part of such an exciting weekend at Alabama State,” said ASU head coach
Reggie Barlow. “Hornet fans will have a lot of events to enjoy from the President's golf tournament to HornetFest to a baseball game and the Black & Gold game. It looks like it will be a fun-filled Saturday for all ASU supporters.”
With the conclusion of spring practice, ASU now begins preparation for the 2010 season opener Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. against Mississippi Valley State at Cramton Bowl.
