ASU Football Turns Attention to Fundamentals

The Alabama State University football team focused on fundamentals during tonights practice.  The Hornets worked out on Hornet Field just over two hours.

The 21 period practice gave the coaching staff the chance to drill down and make it more of a situational practice.  “Tonight was about getting the guys uses to situationals.” Head coach Reggie barlow said. “We worked on punt return, field goal block along with various 7 on 7 drills.”

Fresh off of Wednesday's scrimmage and the dominance on offense, the ASU defense responded well during tonight's practice.

The Hornets will return to practice tomorrow with a two-a-day session in the morning followed by an evening workout at 7 p.m.  Saturday ASU will go through their second scrimmage.  It all gets underway from Hornet Field at 10 a.m.

Alabama State opens the season Saturday September 4th at Cramton Bowl playing host to Mississippi Valley State.  Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.  Season and single game tickets are available.  For information call 334-229-4551
