Montgomery, Ala. -
The Alabama State University Soccer team opens the 2010 season with a loss against Wofford.  The Terriers scored two goals in the first period and four more in the second for a final of 6-0 Sunday at Hornet Stadium.

Coming off of an exhibition win over Huntingdon last week, the lady Hornets battled back and forth up until the 21:51 minute mark.  That's when Wofford's Emily Bougas chipped in the first goal of the match.  Nikki Siebert knocked in one of her two goals for the Terriers quickly at the 26:40 mark.

“We made a lot of mistakes right in front of our goal that led to easy goals for Wofford”.  ASU head soccer coach Jodie Smith Said.  “If we can cut those mistakes down, we should be able to have success down the line”.

ASU goalie, Chelsea Nash finished the day with three saves.  Alex Kachulis, Nikki Siebert, Ellen Ezekiel and Emily Bougas rounded out the second half scoring for Wofford.  Nikki Siebert finished with a game high two assist.  Emily Bougas, Ann Phillips, Lauren Cozzarelli and Maggie Bosley each had one assist apiece.

The Lady Hornets travel to Mobile Friday to face South Alabama for a 7 p.m. kick.
