ASU puts Undefeated Record on Line at Prairie View

ASU Heads to Prairie View
MONTGOMERY—After opening the season with consecutive home games, the Alabama State University Hornets will hit the road for the first time in 2010 with a 4 p.m. kickoff at reigning Southwestern Athletic Conference champions, Prairie View A&M University.
The game will feature the top offense in the SWAC as the Hornets have scored 72 points over their first two games. The game also features the only two teams in the league that have picked up conference wins as Prairie View defeated Texas Southern in its first game of the year. ASU has picked up two conference victories with wins over Mississippi Valley State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Devin Dominguez is coming off a week which saw him toss five touchdown passes to five different receivers in picking up the SWAC Offensive Player of the Week award. He has already tossed eight touchdown passes in the first two games while throwing for 413 yards.
Andrew Pitts is averaging over five yards per carry in leading the Hornets in rushing. He has 134 yards on 24 carries.
This is a series which saw Prairie View win the first game of the series way back in 1931 and did not win again until 2007. A span that saw the Hornets pick up 21 victories, while the 1987 game ended in a 20-all tie. Prairie View has now won the last three games including last year's 24-10 win. ASU continues to hold the series lead 21-4-1.
K.J. Black will return under center for Prairie View this week after missing the team's first two games due to an injury. He was the 2009 SWAC Offensive Player of the Year, and was the 2010 SWAC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year.
The ASU defense has played a lot of players but is led by Kejuan Riley who has 10 total tackles on the year. The defense has only allowed 37 points in the first two games and has been opportunistic with three fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
