“We got our work in today,” head coach
Reggie Barlow said. “There's still a bit more focusing that we have to do with it being cooler today. For the most part, the players were dialed in and we got good work in.”
For just the second time this season, Alabama State will play a team that has a losing record. Of Southern's six losses, four are by five points or less. The hunt to remain in the SWAC Championship remains the Hornets' focus, as Barlow is not concerned about a letdown.
“No, not really,” Barlow said. “This game has a lot of meaning for us for obvious reasons. If we take care of our business, we'll have a chance to hopefully stay alive in the race for the SWAC Championship. I'm not worried about a letdown. I think Southern has a really good team. Every time I watch them on film, I like what I see. We have to make sure we're really dialed in as we prepare for this team.”
