Football Caravan Has Strong Finish in Montgomery

Another energized, engaged and enthusiastic audience greeted the final stop of the 2011 Alabama State Football Coaches Caravan Friday night at ASU's Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

Rousing messages from ASU Athletic Director Stacy Danley and head football coach Reggie Barlow entertained and fired up the crowd in the Acadome Banquet Room.

Nearly a dozen lucky fans won Hornet football paraphernalia, and a pair of fans each won tickets to the State Farm Magic City Classic and Turkey Day Classic.

Friday night was an exciting conclusion to the five-day tour, which began Monday with Alabama stops in Mobile and Birmingham. The caravan moved east Georgia for stops in Columbus/Phenix City Wednesday night, and Atlanta Thursday night.

“I want to thank all of our ASU alumni, fans and supporters who came out to visit with us this week,” Danley said. “Hornet Nation is excited about the outstanding season we had last season, and even more excited about the future of athletics and the University's 20/20 Transformation.”

“Our fans were enthusiastic all week,” Barlow said. “We as a coaching staff really enjoyed being on the road and meeting our fans and talking ASU football and athletics overall.”
