Bobby Wenzig has been named to the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) punter watch list.
Wenzig (6-2, 185, SR, San Diego, Ca.) was a 2011 second-team All-SWAC selection, averaging 41.5 yards on 70 punts, with a long of 69. He has 17 punts of 50+ yards, including five punts which travelled at least 60 yards. A total of 20 punts were downed inside the 20-yard line. Against Texas Southern on Oct. 8, Wenzig averaged 48.7 yards on six punt attempts, with three of 50+ yards (including a 61-yard effort), and two downed inside the 20. In that game, he also scored 19 points (5-5 FGs, 4-4 PATs) and was named FCS Sports Network/Fathead.com Special Teams Player of the Week.
Wenzig, who also handled kicking chores for the Hornets last season, led the team with 76 points scored, converting 31-of-35 PATs and 15-of-25 field goal attempts, scoring at least one point in every game.
