Barlow Addresses Southlawn Elementary School Students

Alabama State head football coach Reggie Barlow was the keynote speaker at the Southlawn Elementary School Honors Day Program.

The Montgomery native addressed the entire student body of first-fifth graders, discussing his life and career in inspiring the youngsters to do well in school.

Barlow challenged to Southlawn students to be successful in school and eventually in life by using the “D.A.S.H.” approach – Discipline, Attitude, Sacrifice, and Habits.

“I live by the acronym,” Barlow told the students. “We all need discipline, whether in diets, budgets, or athletics. Attitude is everything in life, and how you approach adversity, and how you approach success. Sacrifice – no matter where you are in life, it never should be just about you, and habits – you can't say you want to be great but your habits show otherwise.”
