MONTGOMERY—Alabama State University senior forward
Phillip Crawford has once again received a weekly honor from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) office.
Crawford has been recognized as the SWAC Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. He shares the honor with Davon Usher from Mississippi Valley State University.
ASU only played one game this week, but Crawford completed his second consecutive double-double in leading the Hornets past rival Alabama A&M 69-62 Saturday evening.
The Mobile native scored 26 points on 12 of 16 shooting and grabbed 16 rebounds to go along with his three steals in the win. It was his third double-double of the season.
Over the past four games, Crawford is averaging 23.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. His season average is up to 12 points and 5.3 rebounds per outing and his .585 shooting percentage not only leads the Hornets, but is second in the SWAC.
