The Southwestern Athletic Conference named ASU's bowler
Kaila Ryan Freshman of the Year and named her an All-SWAC First Team performer, while sophomore bowler
Danielle Walker received Second Team All-SWAC honors on Tuesday evening.
Ryan held the highest average among all freshman bowlers and ranked third in the league among all bowlers with a SWAC average of 195.96. She bowled a game high 257 against Grambling State during the SWAC East Roundup in Jackson, Miss. at Fannin Lanes.
Walker, before getting injured, anchored the Lady Hornets past some very stiff competition. She received Second Team All-SWAC honors with a 189.65 bowling average.
This is the second consecutive year Alabama State has had the SWAC bowling Freshman of the Year, as Walker received the recognition last season.
The Lady Hornets will conclude their season participating in Music City Invitational on Friday, March 15-17 in Nashville, Tenn.
