The Alabama State football program is set to welcome new Hornets to the team Wednesday on National Signing Day.
Bamastatesports.com, the official website of Alabama State University Athletics, will have updates throughout the day of all sport signings.
Head football coach
Reggie Barlow and his staff have hosted recruits on campus for the past three weeks, and he's looking forward to signing day.
“I'm really happy with the verbal commitments we've received so far,” Barlow said. “We have several verbal commits at offensive line, a position that we really wanted to add depth. There are other positions that we wanted to get, and we've received verbal commitments there. Our coaches have done a great job of bringing highly-rated athletes to the table. Now, if we can just get to signing day now and have all of them to sign with us.”
With less than 24 hours until signing day, Barlow and his staff now play the waiting game, which can be nerve-racking at times as nothing is official until the paperwork is received and confirmed.
“Yes, it can be a little nerve racking,” Barlow said. “However this year, I'm a little more relaxed. Our coaches have been in contact with the guys, so we should be in good shape tomorrow.”
