Hornets Hold Early Thursday Workout

Head Coach Reggie Barlow
The Alabama State University football team put in their final on-campus preparations with an 11 a.m. practice session at Hornet Stadium.

ASU has changed their travel schedule and will leave today and arrive in Little Rock, Ark., later tonight. ASU will hold their final practice tomorrow in Little Rock.

With the Hornets coming off two close losses and having to face the reigning Southwestern Athletic Conference Champions, Head Coach Reggie Barlow knows the team will once again have their work cut out.

"They are the champs," Head Coach Reggie Barlow said. "With it being their first home game they will have their fans behind them and they will be excited to be playing at home for the first time this season. But our team has been working hard this week to get better and we are excited about that, but we know how tough a game it is going to be."

ASU's coaching staff has seen several little things that have added up to the close losses in the first two games of the season, and after another week of working on those problems ASU is looking to put those corrections to the test.

"It has been a combination of things in the losses," Barlow said. "It has been missed protection, it's been drops, it's been an interception, but I still believe in these guys and I believe in the system and I believe in everything we are doing. It is just one of those things we have to work through and hopefully this will be the week we take our play up a little higher."

Saturday's kickoff will be at 4 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN3 with a tape delay broadcast at 9:30 p.m. on ESPNU. WVAS FM 90.7 will bring you all of the action live beginning with the pregame show at 3:45 p.m.
