The SWAC Champion Alabama State women's golf team will continue its fall schedule this week, competing in the FedEx Memphis Intercollegiate Tournament Monday and Tuesday.
Â
Despite winning the season-opening ASU Fall Golf Classic last week at the Robert Trent Jones Senator Course in Prattville, head coach
Dr. Gary Grandison is looking for improvement in the women's team.
Â
"They prepared well," Grandison said of his team's week of practice. "They are capable of beating larger programs. Our attitude and effort will determine our performance."
Â
Alabama State is one of a dozen teams scheduled to compete, along with the host Memphis, SWAC foe Texas Southern, Samford, and Middle Tennessee State among the teams in the field at the Ridgeway Country Club in nearby Germantown (par 71, 6,105 yards).
Â
"It has a tough layout with slick greens," Grandison said of the course which will host the 54-hole event. "We're playing 36 holes Monday on the hottest day of the summer. We prepped for all these factors."Â
