Football Holds Early Morning Practice; Saturday's Scrimmage Time Changed

ASU was out early for their Thursday practice session
Due to today being National Student Day, the Alabama State University football team moved their practice to an early 6 a.m. time.

"I thought the morning session went great," Head Coach Reggie Barlow said.  "The guys played with great energy and they were all on time.  It's still spring ball and we have been able to get some good work in.  I thought the intensity level really picked up the guys approach has been a little different and better and we had some good things that took place this morning."

With Saturday's scrimmage being the final scrimmage of the spring before the annual Black and Gold game, the coaching staff has some things they are still looking for before heading into the final week.

"I am looking for the opportunity to get more reps in (second scrimmage)," Barlow said.  "Our quarterback situation with Duhart having experience we want to get Q.T. (Quniteris Toppings) a lot more reps and see how he embraces being at that position.  It's just another opportunity to see a lot of these guys get more reps."

Barlow also announced today Saturday's scrimmage has been moved from a 9 a.m. start to a 1 p.m. start.  The scrimmage will still be held at Old Hornet Stadium.
