MOBILE, Ala. – The Alabama State University women's golf team posted its lowest score Tuesday in the final round of the USA Lady Jaguar Invitational hosted by South Alabama.
The Lady Hornets finished in 15th-place at the event after carding scores of 348-363-345 (1,056). The event, which marked the spring season opener for ASU, was held on the par 72, 6,071-yard Azalea City Golf Club.
Freshman Aileen Meredith was Alabama State's top performer earning a tie for 30th at 240 (81-80-79).
Memphis earned the team championship with a 54-hole finish of 913. FIU finished second at 919 followed by Stetson in third with a 921 total. The Lady Tigers' Marissa Steen captured the individual medalist crown in a playoff with Stetson's Lauren Cate after both linksters finished the tournament with 222 totals.
The Lady Hornets will next compete Mar. 21-23 at the SWAC Preview in Alexandria, La.
