TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Alabama State volleyball dropped a 3-1 decision to Florida A&M on Friday evening at the Lawson Multipurpose Center.
The Hornets (8–15, 7-4 SWAC) opened strong, taking the first set 25–12 before the Rattlers (8–15, 7–4 SWAC) rallied to win the next three, 25–18, 25–19, and 25–11.
Essence Jones led the Hornets tallying a team-high 11 kills, while Jyriah Morgan added nine. Kamrynn Clay had 26 of the team's 38 assists.
Brooke Adams anchored the defense with 12 digs. Alabama State finished with 38 kills and six team blocks. Taylor Williams had three kills, a team-high three service aces and added eight digs.
The Hornets will continue the current road trip as they play at Bethune-Cookman on Sunday, Nov. 2 at noon.
