Andrew Chatmon

Completing his sixth season as the head women's bowling coach at Alabama State University Andrew Chatmon had one of his most successful seasons ever during the 2013-14 athletic season.

Chatmon and the Lady Hornets set new school records in wins and has set the tone for the program each of his six seasons he has been here.

During the 2013-14 season the Lady Hornets captured the title of Regular Season SWAC Champions as well as participated in the 2014 Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship game that was aired on ESPNU.

Chatmon has been named back-to-back SWAC Coach of the Year (2013 & 2014).  In the past three years he has had two student-athletes named as Freshman of the Year, Danielle Walker in 2012 and Kaila Ryan in 2013.    He has had three players named to the All SWAC team as well (Walker, Ryan and Briana Wells) 

In 2014 Walker was named Player of the Year.  Not only has Chatmon reached new horizons on the athletic side his team has had academic success.  In 2012-13 the Lady Hornets had the highest GPA in the Nation with a 3.69.

Another 2014 accomplishment was being ranked national at the number 16th spot in the nation.  This is the highest ranking in the history of the school program.

Chatmon brought 40 years of bowling experience to ASU and six years of coaching in the YABA Junior League in Montgomery.  He also has four years as a USBC Silver Level Certified Coach.
 
He attended Alabama State from 1981-1985, where he majored in business management and played on ASU’s baseball team.  He is a member of Phi Beta Lamda (business Fraternity), Shrine Mason and the National 10 pin Coaches Association.
 
A native of Enterprise, Chatmon is the proud parent of three children -- Jordan, (who is a current Alabama State student) Andrew and Myles.
