MEDIA CREDENTIAL REQUESTS APPLICATION
STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS
The Alabama State University Strategic Communications Office is ready to assist you in every way possible to make the experience of covering ASU Athletics productive and rewarding. For this reason, we have developed policies and procedures that will require cooperation on the part of the media. Not complying with these policies will result in the refusal of credentials/access.
INTERVIEW POLICIES
ALL interviews must be coordinated through the Alabama State University Strategic Communications Office and must be requested at least two days (48 hours) in advance. Player or coach interviews should be requested through the media contact for each sport. The team locker rooms and the training room are off-limits to media representatives at all times. Media may not contact current student-athletes directly under any circumstances.
Interviews with coaches and athletes are also coordinated through the strategic communications staff.
Postgame interviews with student-athletes and coaches will be conducted on the playing surface or in a designated media area following a 10-15 minute cooling-off period. While every effort will be made to accommodate all needs, student-athlete availability is determined on an event-by-event basis.
Credentials will be revoked by the Alabama State Athletics Strategic Communications office for any media failing to comply with interview guidelines.
PRESS BOX AND PRESS ROW GUIDELINES
- All press areas at all sports are for working press only. All non-working press will be asked to exit the press box.
- NO cheering
- NO loud talking
- NO fighting, arguing or trash talking
- NO soliciting
Failure to follow any press area rules will result in eviction from the event and will be subject to suspension of all media credentials for the remainder of the year.
