Mission Statement for the Office of Compliance
The mission of the Athletics Office of Compliance is to function within the realm of the University's compliance structure, coordinating, monitoring and verifying compliance with all NCAA and Conference requirements, and to educate athletics department staff members, student-athletes, the various constituencies of the University and the community regarding University, NCAA and Conference regulations. The Athletics Office of Compliance is committed and compelled to the principle of institutional control in the operation of the athletics department in a way that is constant with rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Southwestern Athletic Conference and the University.
Vision for the Office of Compliance
The vision of the Athletics Office of Compliance is to transform and to be recognized as one of the most comprehensive and proactive compliance programs in the areas of institutional control, education, and rules violation prevention. The Athletics Office of Compliance shall be dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of excellence and professionalism by working together with all athletics staff members, student-athletes, University personnel, alumni, boosters, and the external community in an environment that promotes respect, communication and teamwork; by encouraging professional growth in the area of rules compliance; by incorporating in others the highest regard for ethical conduct and integrity; by fostering an environment that is supportive of the NCAA operating principle of competitive equity and quality; by seeking out diversity and gender equity; and by fostering individual empowerment and personal well-being of our student-athletes.
