Kiara Fairman posted the first hat trick in the history of Alabama State women's soccer while Maiya Moore and Imani Rogers each scored twice in a 7-1 win over Southern at the Emory Folmar YMCA Complex.
The win gave the Lady Hornets (2-9-1) a three-game unbeaten streak, with a Friday tie to Southwestern Athletic Conference Eastern Division foe Jackson State sandwiched by wins over Western Division rivals Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Southern (0-6).
Fairman had two goals in the first half as ASU held a 3-1 advantage after 45 minutes. She added her third goal on an assist from Moore in the 73rd minute to complete the hat trick. Moore would add her second goal on an assist from Rogers during injury time to complete the scoring.
Alabama State is in action again on Oct. 14 when it travels to take on Mississippi Valley State starting at 4 p.m.
