Hornets Unable to Continue Home Court Magic

Dec. 16, 2006

Final Stats

After three consecutive road losses, the Alabama State Hornets returned home - where they were undefeated- to face the Georgia State Panthers. Unfortunately for ASU, the losing streak continued as their home winning streak died as they fell to GSU 64-56.

ASU, who had relied on the 3-point shot all season, went 3 out of 17 from outside the arc. Andrew Hayles entered the game averaging more than 15 points per game, scored only 2 on 1 for 13 shooting. Overall, ASU shot only 44% for the game.

Though GSU shot even worse than the Hornets, they more than made up for it by going 20-28 from the free throw line compared to ASU's 3-9.

Richard Lott, injured earlier this season, scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Moses Edun and Dustin Richmond added 11 and 10 points respectively.

Lance Perique led the Panthers with 29 points. Brandon Cartwright chipped in 13 points and snared 8 rebounds tying Perique in that category.

ASU (2-6) travels to face SEC power Mississippi State on Monday night. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. and can be seen on SportsSouth.
