The resurgent Prairie View A & M Lady Panthers beat Alabama State 74-50 Saturday night, in one of the worst SWAC losses in the Freda Freeman-Jackson era.
ASU fell behind by 15 at the half, and could never get any closer than 12 after that. In the first game of their Texas road trip, ASU shot only 23% for the game, making only 14 out of 61 shots for the night.
The Lady Hornets also committed 22 turnovers and converted only 18 of their 34 free throw attempts.
L'Teisha Holloway and Jasmon Hazley led ASU with 10 points each.
Shavonee Smith led the Prairie View (8-11, 6-2 SWAC) with 17 points. Gaati Werema added 12.
