Final Stats

Jackson, Miss. - The first three innings were dominated by the pitchers as both ASU's Destinee Sanchez and Jackson State's Jessica Villegas prevented either offense from getting on track.

The Lady Hornets broke through in the fourth inning. Nicole Zarate got things going with a single, and advanced to third base when Cami Cunningham reached first on an error. Cunningham stole second, and April O'Neal drove Zarate home with an RBI fly out to right field. Destinee Sanchez knocked Cunningham in with a groundout to second base. Whitney Valentine ended the scoring with a solo home run.

Jackson State was able to manufacture a run with a single, an error, and a couple of ground outs. That's all Sanchez would allow as she went seven strong innings for ASU earn the win.
