MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Nikel White marked her Alabama State debut with 12 points and six rebounds in a 63-50 win Friday over the University of Mobile .

White, a transfer from Pensacola Junior College , came off the bench to lead the Lady Hornets to victory.

After Mobile scored the opening basket, the Lady Hornets outscored the Lady Rams 36-21 the rest of the first half. Mobile started the second half with a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 44-36 before ASU got rolling to outscore the visitors 19-15 the final 12 minutes of play.

Freshman Erica Henderson, who started both halves of the game, had 10 points and three rebounds. Tanika Jackson added eight points and 10 rebounds. Point Guard Jakayla Hill added nine points, four assists, one steal and two rebounds.

Teammate Shanice Merritt played for 21 minutes, adding six points, four rebounds and three blocks.

The Lady Rams were led by Gerica Johnson with 18 points and six rebounds. Alice Honnery and Morgan Crawford added eight points each for the Lady Rams and Honnery had a team high 16 rebounds.  

The Lady Hornets will be on the road the next two weeks, traveling to New York and Georgia . ASU faces Colgate Nov. 18 in Hamilton , N.Y. Tip-off in Cotterell Court is set for 7 p.m. EST.
