Lady Hornets Squeeze by Grambling, 67-65

Grambling, La. – L'Teisha Holloway led three Lady Hornets in double figures as Alabama State captured a 67-65 win against Grambling on Saturday.  Holloway scored 17 points as the Lady Hornets improved to 14-15 overall and 11-7 in SWAC play.

Tanika Jackson added 16 points, while Erica Lumpkin scored 14 points.  This was the first time all season that three players finished in double figures.  Jackson came off the bench to lead the Lady Hornets in rebounding giving her, her third double-double of the season.

The Lady Hornets hit five three-pointers in the first half, two by Erica Lumpkin and Kimberly Davis who saw her fourth start of the season.  Although the Lady Hornets had some sharpshooters it wasn't enough to go into half time down by three (32-29).

Rachele Dobbins scored 18 points for the Tigers and four steals. Tenisha Shaw and Gabrielle Fleming both added nine points each.

The Lady Hornets head to Birmingham for SWAC Tournament play against Mississippi Valley State on Thursday, March 12 at 12 noon.
