PRESCOTT, Ariz. - The Alabama State men's basketball team completed their Midwest road swing tonight with a 74-46 loss at The University of Northern Arizona. Tonight marked the third game in five nights for ASU. The Hornets were without Chris Duncan, Tremaine Butler and Kenderek Wright who were all out with injuries.
Duncan and Butler have missed all three contests. Wright entered the game as the leading scorer and he sat out with a head injury that he suffered against Iowa State on Sunday.
Freshmen and Phoenix, Ariz. native Kaylim Noel scored a career high 13 points to lead ASU including three from three point range. It was also a career best for Patrick Davis who tallied 12 points along with six rebounds on the night. UNA was led by Eric Platt who scored a game high 16 points.
The loss dropped ASU to 0-3 on the season. “We certainly have to play tougher if we want to win any ball games”. Head coach Lewis Jackson said. “We found out a lot about our team of the past several days and now we'll get back to work”.
Alabama State will return to action Saturday when they'll play host to Kennesaw State. Tipoff from the Dunn-Oliver Acadome is set for 7 pm. Tickets for The Hornet's home opener can be purchased by contacting the ASU box office at 334-229-4551.
