ASU BASKETBALL ALL SET FOR TEXAS ROADTRIP

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Alabama State Men's basketball team is set to take off for their Texas road swing.  They will face Prairie View and Texas Southern respectively this weekend.

The Men's team enters this weekend's action coming off of an 81-68 victory over Alcorn State.  A pair of wins this weekend could potentially lift ASU above .500 in the conference.  They're currently 3-4 in the SWAC.

Tramayne Moorer leads the Hornets in scoring with 12 points per contest along with grabbing six rebounds per game.  Tramaine Butler scored a season high 27 points against Alcorn including going 5-8 from three point range.  Butler also pulled down six rebounds in that game.  Playing away from home has not exactly been the team's strength.  They're lone victory came at Arkansas Pine-Bluff in the early goings of the conference season.

The Panthers are ranked second in scoring averaging 65 points per game.   Prairie View is riding a three game losing streak and they are 2-5 in the conference, with wins over Alcorn and Grambling.  Tip-off at Prairie View Saturday is slated for 5 pm.

Monday, the trip moves on to Houston as the Hornets will face a Texas Southern team that is tied for first in the SWAC.  Their only loss came this past Monday against Mississippi Valley State.  Prior to the loss TSU reeled off six consecutive wins.

Tip-off from Houston against Texas Southern is set for 7:30 pm
