This will be the 49th meeting between the Lady Hornets and Prairie View, with the Panthers prevailing 50-43 in the 2011 season.  Alabama State owns a 31-17 series over the Lady Panthers.

Alabama State comes into tomorrow's game with a 6-10 overall record and 3-4 in conference play.  The Lady Hornets fell 71-51 to Southwestern Athletic Conference foe Southern Jaguars Monday night.

Sophomore Quentori Alford has been holding the center spot down scoring a total of 22 points in the last two games.  She is averaging 7.8 points per game and contributing 7.5 rebounds per game.

Prairie View comes into Saturday's match-up with a 7-11 overall record and are 4-3 in the SWAC, with their last win coming over Arkansas Pine Bluff.  JaQuandria Williams led the Lady Panthers with 33 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in the 102-51 win.

“Prairie is playing good ball right now,” said Head Coach Freda Freeman-Jackson.  “PV is use to winning championships and that's why it's so important that we get off to a good start tomorrow, so that we can knock some of that momentum off in the beginning of the game.  Prairie View has won its last three contest and we have lost ours, so we need to come into tomorrow's game ready to play some basketball.”
