“Southern has always given us a challenge,” head coach Freda Freeman-Jackson said.  “We welcome the challenge, we know that they are very athletic and they are accustomed to playing us tough.  We are going to have to play our game and make sure that we handle what we need to handle in order to get the win.”

Southern and the Lady Hornets last met in Baton Rouge, La. when Alabama State fell to the Jaguars 71-51.  The last meeting marked the 56th time that these two teams faced each other.

“Whenever we play Southern, we know we have to play hard and put our best foot forward,” said Freeman-Jackson.  We also will have to limit our mistakes to a bare minimum.  We will have to capitalize on their mistakes and make sure we get the win.”
