The Alabama State women's basketball team will take on the Lady Lions of Arkansas Pine bluff at 3:00 pm on Saturday at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

This game will mark the start of the second half of conference play for the Lady Hornets. Alabama State was defeated by UAPB earlier this season at the H.O. Clemmons Arena by the score of 68-63.
This will be the 33
rd meeting between the Lady Hornets and Pine Bluff, with Alabama State owning a 26-7 series lead over the Lady Lions.
ASU will enter tomorrow's game with a 6-14 overall record and 4-5 in conference play. The Lady Hornets fell 74-30 to Southwestern Athletic Conference foe Texas Southern Monday night.
Junior
Quentori Alford has been holding the center spot down scoring a total of 18 points in the last two games. She is averaging 9.4 points per game and contributing 9.6 rebounds per game on the season.
Nakiya Smith still leads the Lady Hornets in scoring averaging 9.6 points per contest.
UAPB comes into Saturday's match-up with a 7-12 overall record and are 3-6 in the SWAC, with their last game falling to Jackson State 70-59. Chigozianyi Okwumbua led UAPB with 22 points against Jackson and is leading the Lady Lions in scoring averaging 11.7 points. Marion Thompson leads the team in rebounding (4.4). Lekendra Marsh holds down the Lady Lions from around the arch averaging a .393 three-point percentage. She had 18 points in the loss to JSU.
“UAPB is playing good ball right now,” said Head Coach
Freda Freeman-Jackson. “Although they have loss the last few games they are hungry right not looking for a win themselves. That's why it's so important that we get off to a good start tomorrow, so that we can knock some of that momentum off in the beginning of the game and get the win.”
Saturday will be ASU Connection day for all junior high and high school students. The day will be full of fun and information about the University.
