Grambling State came to the Dunn-Oliver Acadome earlier in the season falling to the Lady Hornets 68-60.  The Lady Tigers will enter the game with a 7-22 overall record and 5-12 in conference play after sliding by the Bulldogs of Alabama A&M 70-67.

Alabama State has a 9-19 overall record and they are 7-10 in the SWAC, both teams will look to wrap up their final game with a win.  The Lady Hornets are coming off of a 70-67 loss to Jackson State.  The series between the two schools marks their 66th meeting with Grambling State leading the series 41-25.

“I feel as though we are ready to play Grambling,” head women's basketball coach Freda Freeman-Jackson stated.  “The girls were actually focused during practice today.  We cut some of the number of players that we usually travel, so the girls really didn't have a choice but to be focused at practice tonight.  If they make the dedication and the commitment to play on the defensive end then I think we should be ok.  This is a very crucial game for us to determine how we finish the season.”

Junior Nakiya Smith led the charge in scoring with 23 points picking up her eight double digit game of the season.  Smith is currently averaging 8.4 points per game.  Sophomore Kierra Paige leads the team in scoring averaging 8.9 points per contest.  Quentori Alford controls the lead on the boards averaging 9.7 rebounds per game.
