The Alabama State women's basketball team will host Texas Southern the number one team in the conference, for Senior Night, Gold Rush, Connection and Community Day. Tip will be at 3 p.m. at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome Saturday, February 28.
The contest will be broadcast live on bamastatesports.com with live feed available. Fans can also get play-by-play action, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for in game updates throughout the game.
The Lady Hornets (12-12, 8-6 SWAC) are coming off of a two game loss to both Alcorn State Saturday night (77-72 in overtime) and to Southern (72-58) Monday night. Texas Southern (16-9, 13-1 SWAC) will enter tomorrows contest after defeating Mississippi Valley 70-46 at the HPE Arena in Houston, Texas.
"This is definitely a big game for us and we need all our fans here to support us," said head women's basketball coach
Freda Freeman-Jackson. "When there is a game like this on the line we need to do everything we can on both ends of the court except sending opponents to the line. That has been something we have found in our last two games that we have been doing and we need to make that change."
Athletics is asking all fans to wear gold in support of the Hornets.
