BATON ROUGE, La. – The Alabama State women's basketball team endured a night of costly turnovers, low percentage shooting under a foul-plagued defensive effort in dropping a 93-40 game at LSU on Wednesday night at the Maravich Center.Â
The Lady Hornets (1-9) shot just 29 percent from the floor as team and committed 33 turnovers and 28 fouls as LSU was able to take a comfortable 25-point into halftime.Â

Alabama State scored nine points in each of the first three quarters before putting their best offensive showing in the last quarter with 13 points.

Daniele Ewert were each held in check with four points apiece.

The Lady Hornets were led by
Ziara Doe, who had eight points, two assists and a steal and
Tatyana Calhoun, who scored seven points and collected five rebounds.Â

Chloe Jackson led four Lady Tigers (11-2) in double digits for scoring with 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field.Â

LSU shot a blistering 55 percent from the field as a team.
Next, Alabama State opens conference play and will host Grambling State on Monday, Jan. 2 at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.Â
