PANTHERSVILLE, GA. –  One Lady Hornet continued her climb up the all-time hit list.

The rest of the Alabama State softball team saw a tough day at the plate as the Lady Hornets lost 6-0 to Georgia State on Tuesday at Bob Heck Field.

Georgia State (20-22 overall) took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Mallory Koepke and Reagan Morgan each had RBI singles.

The Panthers added four more runs in the fourth on a slew of singles.

Alabama State (18-20 overall) had their best chances in the second and seventh innings.

Charlene Castro each drew walks to open the second, but a double play and a strikeout ended the threat.

Yanez singled through the left side after the double play for her 156
th career hit to move into fifth place all-time in Alabama State history in hits.Â

The senior catcher passed Ayeesha Famble, who played from 2009 to 2012, with the Lady Hornets.Â

Yanez finished 2-for-3 after she added another laser shot into left field.Â

ASU loaded the bases in the seventh, but left all three stranded.Â

The Lady Hornets left eight runners stranded on base in all.Â

Melissa Christmann started in the circle and worked two innings and allowed two runs on four hits.Â

She struck out two and walked two.Â

Maddie Phelps came on in relief in the third and tossed three innings and allowed four runs on six hits.Â
