Reginald Gee, the Alabama State University men's basketball team dropped their third consecutive contest, falling to Mississippi Valley State 73-70 in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play Monday night.

Gee finished the night with 28 points, including shooting 61.1 (11-of-18) percent from the floor and knocked a trio of three-pointers. The freshman also finished with six rebounds and three steals, while
Demetruis Houston finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Tony Armstrong added 11 points and six rebounds, while
Amir Warnock added 10 points and eight rebounds in the loss.

Alabama State (3-13, 1-3 SWAC) shot 41.3 (26-of-63) percent from the floor, including just 21.7 (5-of-23) percent from beyond the arc. The Hornets finished the night 65.0 (13-of-20) percent from the free throw line, while forcing 12 turnovers from Mississippi Valley State. The Hornets also won the rebounding battle 44-35.

Marcus Romain led Mississippi Valley State (1-15, 1-2 SWAC) with 28 points and 10 rebounds, while Kylan Phillips added 12 points.

Mississippi Valley State finished the night shooting 48.3 (28-of-58) percent from the floor, including 42.9 (6-of-14) percent from beyond the arc. They also finished 50 (11-of-22) percent from the free throw line

Alabama State returns to action Saturday on the road against Alabama A&M University, with tip set for 5 pm – which will conclude a three-game road trip for the Hornets.
