Alabama State faces Iowa on BTN PLUS Sunday afternoon

Game marks the second consecutive road game for Hornets

IOWA CITY | Alabama State returns to action Sunday afternoon in their second consecutive road game, facing Iowa at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on a game seen on BTN PLUS.
 
Tip is set for 3 pm.
 
Alabama State (0-1) enters the game after falling to Mississippi State, 98-69, on the road Friday night. In that contest, Jacoby Ross came off the bench to score a team-high 17 points. He also hit five three-pointers in the win, three of those coming in the first half. Ed Jones added 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor, and grabbed six rebounds.
 
Fredens Deneus came off the bench to added nine points and seven rebounds for the Hornets, while Branden Johnson added seven points and six rebounds in the loss.
 
Meanwhile, for Iowa (1-0), the Hawkeyes come into the contest after running past Chicago State 95-69 Friday night. The Hawkeyes shot 59.6 (31-of-52) percent from the floor and 54.4 (12-of-22) percent from beyond the arc.
 
Luka Garza led six players in double figures for the Hawkeyes with 16 points, while Isaiah Moss added 14. Tyler Cook and Jordan Bohannon added 12 points each, while Maishe Dailey and Jack Nunge added 10 each in their win.
