BROOKINGS, S.D. | Alabama State continues their 10-day road trip this week, playing in Brookings (S.D.) against South Dakota State. The game will be the third game in five days for the Hornets as they continue their trip out West.

Alabama State (0-2) is coming off a 92-58 loss to Iowa in which Tobi Ewousho recorded his first career double-double in the loss. The sophomore recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds, while also adding four assists.
Reginald Gee led the team in scoring with 15 points, while
Branden Johnson added 13 points and four blocks.

The Hornets have three players averaging double figures this season, led by Ewuosho and
Ed Jones at 10.5 points per game. Johnson is at 10 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while Ewuosho is averaging 7.5 rebounds per game. Through two games, Gee is averaging nine points and
Jacoby Ross 8.5 points per game.

Meanwhile, South Dakota State (2-0) entered the 2017-18 campaign as the Summit League's preseason top pick after earning the league's automatic bid a year ago to the NCAA Tournament, and opened the season with a 65-54 win against UC Irvine Friday.
The Jacks are out to a 2-0 start on the season after picking up a 65-54 win in the opener against UC Irvine and a 78-54 win against Mary Sunday.
Mike Daum (17.0 points per game), David Jenkins (14.5 ppg) and Reed Tellinghuisen (10.5 ppg) are averaging double figures for SDSU. Brandon Key has dished four assists in both games.
