MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State hits the road over the Thanksgiving Holidays, as they travel to Hattiesburg (Miss.) for the annual Lady Eagle Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Southern Miss.

The Lady Hornets will face Stephen F. Austin in the first game of the tournament, playing at 8 pm Friday night.

Alabama State (1-3) is coming off a 58-39 loss to Samford in which
Jordyn Holmes recorded her first career double-double in the loss. The redshirt-junior recorded 14 points and 12 rebounds, while also adding two steals.
Tatyana Calhoun led the team in rebounding with seven, while
Shamyiah Smith added seven points.

Smith who is averaging 8.3 points during the course of four games leads the Lady Hornets.
Arleatha Gipson and
Amber Hunt are at 6.3 points per game. Defensively, Calhoun leads her team with 6.5 boards and 1.3 blocks per game while
Courtney Lee paces her team with 2.3 steals per game.

Meanwhile, Stephen F. Austin (2-1) enters the 2017-18 campaign as the Southland's Conference preseason third pick after a 14-4 conference record and advancing to the Southland Tournament title game a year ago.
The Ladyjacks are out to a 2-1 start on the season after defeating Howard Payne on Friday, 105-35, and recording the highest team point total since the 1995-96 season.
Stevi Parker (13.7 points per game) and Chanell Hayes (10.0 ppg) are averaging double figures for SFU. The duo also leads the team in rebounding with Parker averaging 10.7 per game and Hayes with 4.7 rebounds per game.
