MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State will play their eighth consecutive road game to open the season against Jacksonville State Thursday night, their final road game before playing at home in two weeks.
 
The game will mark the fourth time this season that Alabama State (0-7) has faced a team that played in the NCAA Tournament a season ago – South Dakota State, Oregon and Cincinnati.
 
Alabama State and Jacksonville State (4-3) share three common opponents on the season in Mississippi State, Chattanooga and Savannah State, with Mississippi State being the only team that has defeated both teams this season.
 
Reginald Gee leads Alabama State through the first seven games this season at 13.7 points per game, and has scored in double digits in all but two contests. Meanwhile, Jacoby Ross has come off the bench to average nine points, including a season-high 20 against Savannah State. Ed Jones, a former Gamecock, is averaging 7.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game this season for Alabama State.
 
Meanwhile, Jacksonville State comes into the game after falling to Mississippi State 59-56 behind a double-double by Norbertas Giga (15 points and 10 rebounds).
 
The game tips at 7 pm from Pete Mathews Coliseum on the Jacksonville State campus, and can be seen on the OVC Digital Network.
