FLORENCE, Ala. | Alabama State hits the road before the Thanksgiving break, as they travel to Florence (Ala.) to face its second in-state opponent, North Alabama on Monday night.
Alabama State (0-3) is coming off a 61-50 loss to Samford in which
Ayana Emmanuel recorded a career-high 22 points in the loss. The freshman also led the Lady Hornets in rebounds with seven, while
Armani Smith and
Courtney Lee each added four rebounds, respectively.
Emmanuel leads the Lady Hornets in scoring this season with 12.3 points per game, while
Jayla Crawford is averaging six points.
Shmya Ward leads the defense with 4.5 rebounds per game, while Emmanuel adds 4.3.
Meanwhile, North Alabama (4-0), the newest member of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN), enters the game after a 99-43 victory over Stillman College. In that contest, four players reached double figures, led by Emma Wallen with 24 points.
This will be the first time the two teams have met, as Alabama State will be the first Division I team to visit Flowers Hall. The game tips off at 6 pm.
