CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. | Alabama State dropped their final game of the Frost Classic – hosted by Chattanooga – 11-0 to Eastern Illinois Sunday morning.
Eastern Illinois was able to jump on the scoreboard early with eight runs in the first inning before adding three more in the second inning. The Panthers finished scoring in the second inning as the run-rule concluded the game in the top of the fifth inning.
Skyler Sullivan suffered the loss after lasting just one-third of an inning, allowing five runs off of five hits.
Charlene Castro came out the bullpen pitching 2.1 innings of shutout softball, not allowing a hit in the process.
The Lady Hornets will be back in action on Friday, March 2 as they take on Villanova and Eastern Michigan in the EMU Florida Tournament. The tournament takes place in Madeira Beach (Fla.).
