@BamaStateWBB continues road swing facing Mississippi Valley Monday night

Lady Hornets look to sweep road trip series

ITTA BENA, Miss. | Alabama State looks to remain perfect on the road in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play when it faces Mississippi Valley Monday night.

The game is set to tip at 5:30 pm inside the Harrison HPER Complex, and will be carried on the Hornet Sports Network with pregame beginning at 5:15 pm.
 
Alabama State (3-11, 2-1 SWAC), which has won two of its last three games, is coming off a 58-56 win over UAPB. The Lady Hornets got a double-double from Shmya Ward (15 points, 10 rebounds) and 11 points from Ayana Emmanuel.
 
MVSU (2-11, 1-1 SWAC) fell to Alabama A&M in their SWAC home opener, 80-60, behind 16 points from Erin Smith and 14 points from Makayla Bonner on Saturday night.

  • Ayana Emmanuel leads the Lady Hornets offense, averaging 13.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, while Jayla Crawford averages 11.4 points
  • Ward is averaging 11.4 points and snagging 7.3 rebounds per contest for the Lady Hornets
