Montgomery, Ala. – Alabama State will face its second in-state foe in its last three games when the Lady Hornets welcome Samford to the Dunn-Oliver Acadome on Sunday at 3 p.m. to close out their three-game homestand.

Alabama State (3-2) used a dominant second half to earn an 84-58 win over Paine in its last contest on Nov. 24. Five Alabama State players recorded double figures led by sophomores
Jayla Crawford and
Ayana Emmanuel and freshman
Hannah White with 15 points apiece. White's 15 points marks her career high.

With the win, Alabama State improved to a perfect 3-0 in home contests with two of the three victories coming against in-state opponents (Mobile and Jacksonville State).

On the season, Emmanuel paces the team dropping 13.8 points per game with an efficient 56.3 three-point percentage (9-of-16). Freshman
Aniyah Smith follows closely behind putting up 13.2 points with a team-high 7.6 rebounds. Junior
Courtney Lee leads the way averaging 4.0 assists per contest.

Scouting the Bulldogs
Samford is coming off a hard-fought 79-63 win over in-state opponent North Alabama on Wednesday to improve to 2-6 on the year under first-year head coach Carley Kuhns.

In the game, Natalie Armstrong led the way with a double double in a game-high 24 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Shauntai Battle added 16 points while Charity Brown dished out six assists.

On the season, Sarah Myers leads the way averaging 13.6 points per game, shooting 41.7 percent (40-of-96) from the field and is second on the team in rebounds per game averaging 6.3. Armstrong pours in 12.5 points per game on a blistering 51.9 percent (42-of-81) while leading the team with 6.4 boards per game.

This season, the Bulldogs are currently 1-4 when playing away from their home arena, with their sole road victory coming against North Alabama on Wednesday afternoon.
