@BamaStateMBB closes out pre-SWAC schedule at No. 6/10 Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. | Alabama State closes out the pre-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) schedule Sunday afternoon against No. 6/10 Oregon on the road, with the game carried on the Pac-12 Network.

Tip is set for 3 pm (cst) / 1 pm (pst) and will be carried on the Hornet Sports Network beginning with the pregame show at 12:45 pm (pst).

Alabama State (1-11), who has played the fourth-toughest non-conference schedule according to the latest ESPN BPI rankings, looks to get back on track heading into conference play next month.
The Hornets have dropped their last five games after a win over Chicago State at the Emerald Coast Classic in November, including a pair of contests to UAB and Austin Peay prior to the Christmas break.

#The Series
These two teams have met before, playing in Eugene during the 2017-18 season with the Ducks coming out on top in that game 114-56.

The Ducks leads the all-time series 2-0.

#What to Watch For
Tobi Ewuosho is the lone player averaging double figures for the Hornets as he has scored in double figures in 10 of the first 12 games this season. In the two games he has not scored in double figures, he has finished with nine and currently averages 14.3 per game.

He scored a career-high 25 points in the Hornets' last game against Austin Peay in the Basketball Destinations St. Pete Shootout before the Christmas break.

Ewuosho leads the team in rebounding at 6.2 rebounds per game and is among the conference leaders in free throw shooting at 79.2 (42-of-53) percent this season.

Leon Daniels and Brandon Battle are averaging 6.5 points per game for the Hornets, while Battle is averaging 4.3 rebounds per game.

Jacoby Ross needs just three points to hit 800 for his career in his third season at Alabama State, while Kevin Holston needs just one more assist to hit 100 for his career in just his second season. Holston has dished out an assist in all but two games this season.

#Scouting Oregon
Oregon is the only school in the country with its men's basketball, women's basketball and football teams all currently ranked in the Associated Press to seven.

Payton Pritchard is the only player in the nation averaging 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. He's coming off a career-high tying 29 points against Texas Southern and needs just nine points to pass E.J. Singler on the all-time scoring list.

Francis Okoro scored 12 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in a win over Montana (December 14).

Dana Altman, the winningest coach in Oregon history, is one of six active coaches in NCAA Division I who have posted a winning record for the last 22 consecutive seasons – with the other five in the Hall of Fame.
