HOUSTON, Texas. | Alabama State will continue its Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) road swing in Houston, Texas on Monday at 5:30 pm when they face Prairie View A&M at William J. Nicks Arena.
The Lady Hornets (7-12, 6-2 SWAC) defeated Texas Southern 58-51 in their last contest where
Ayana Emmanuel led Alabama State with 18 points while
Tyesha Rudolph added ten points in the win.
A LOOK INSIDE ALABAMA STATE
- Alabama State currently ranks fourth in the conference with a record of 6-2, tied with Prairie View A&M and Grambling State.
- Ayana Emmanuel leads the Lady Hornets and Is fifth in the conference in scoring at 14.0 points per game, while Crawford is averaging 12.1 points.
- Ward is third in the conference in rebounding at 7.5 rebounds per game to go along with 10.4 points.
A LOOK INSIDE PRAIRIE VIEW A&M
- PVAMU defeated Alabama A&M in their last outing 77-65 in which Shayla Dobbins led the Panthers with 19 points on 13-of-13 shots from the free throw line.
- The Panthers also cruised to an 80-41 victory against Arkansas Pine-Bluff last Saturday.
- Dobbins leads the Panthers offense, averaging 14,6 points per game while Artavia Ford is at 11.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
- Ke'Asia Williams leads the defense, hauling 7.0 rebounds to go along with 4.8 points.
SERIES MATCHUP
- This will be the 73rd meeting between Alabama State and Prairie View A&M, and the Lady Hornets hold a 42-30 overall series advantage.
- The teams split the season series last year with the Lady Hornets winning 70-68 at home (Jan. 27), and falling 69-63 on the road (Feb. 24)
