@BamaStateWBB travels to Grambling State in one of final road tests

Lady Hornets face Grambling and Jackson State in final two regular season contests

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State will conclude the 2018-19 regular season on the road, starting with Grambling State on Thursday night in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action.
 
Tip is set for 5:30 pm inside of Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center with audio coverage provided by the Hornets Sports Network.
 
Alabama State (11-16, 10-6 SWAC) knocked off Prairie View A&M on Monday night behind a 23-point performance by Ayana Emmanuel, shooting a perfect 10-of-10 from the charity stripe. The team converted 21-of-26 for the game.
 
Grambling State (13-15, 16-6 SWAC) enters the contest after losing to Mississippi Valley 79-61. Jazmin Boyd led the Lady Tigers with 18 points, as the loss puts the Lady Tigers in a four-way tie with the Lady Hornets, Jackson State and Texas Southern.
 
A LOOK AT ALABAMA STATE
  • Ayana Emmanuel leads the Lady Hornets offense, averaging 14.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, while Jayla Crawford is at 12.3 points.
  • Ward is averaging 10.3 points and snagging 7.2 rebounds per contest for the Lady Hornets.
  • Alabama State is shooting 39.8 percent from the field and 65.3 percent from the foul line.
